Folate-5 Plus™ is a high potency folate product, adequate folate status is correlated to the expression of proteins involved in the activation and regulation of immune function. The synthesis of the neurotransmitters dopamine, epinephrine, and serotonin also require folate as a cofactor. Folate deficiency may also result in reduced DNA methylation, which can cause chromosomal instability and increase mutation events. Adequate folic acid levels may reduce a woman's risk of having a child with neural tube defects.
